History of ICCS

October 2002 Adopted "International Center for Chinese Studies" as "21st COE Program" by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology KAGAMI Mitsuyuki, Professor of Modern Chinese Studies, took post as Director
May 2003 Held the Opening Lecture "Prospect of Japan-China Relations in 21st Century" in Nagoya
October 2003 Held the international symposium "Turbulent World and China: Towards a Creation of Modern Sinology" in Nagoya
April 2004 Established the Sub-center for research and education in Nankai University and Renmin University of China
April 2004 Set up the doctorate "Dual Degree Program" as a part of ICCS support for young talents between Aichi University and Nankai University, or Renmin University of China
September 2004 Accepted the first students of "Dual Degree Program" from Chinese Universities (continuing)
October 2004 Held the International Symposium "Turbulent World and China: Towards a Creation of Modern Sinology" (The first section: Politics and Culture) in Aichi University
November 2004 Held the International Symposium "Turbulent World and China: Towards a Creation of Modern Sinology" (The second section: Economics and Environment) in Aichi University
February 2005 Dispatched the first students of "Dual Degree Program" to Chinese University (continuing)
October 2005 Established the Japan-China West Center for Cooperative Research and Development in Ningxia Academy of Social Sciences
December 2005 Held the International Symposium "Modern Sinology and the Cultural Viewpoint" in Nankai, China (Joint Sponsored with School of History in Nankai University)
December 2005 Held the International Symposium "Creation of Methodology of International Sinology" in Beijing, China (Joint Sponsored with School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences)
September 2006 Held the International Symposium "Foreign Investment by Chinese Enterprises" in Tianjin, China (Joint Sponsored with School of Economics and Research Center for Politics and Economics, Nankai University)
November 2006 Held the International Symposium "Challenges and Prospects of the Modern Sinology" in Aichi University
December 2006 Held the International Symposium "Towards building an Environment-Harmonized Society" in Beijing, China (Joint Sponsored with the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences)
April 2007 Expanded "Dual Degree Program" as a part of ICCS support for young talents into the Master course (Nankai University/Renmin University of China)

June 2009 Concluded an agreement for academic and education exchange with Minority Research Center, Minzu University of China
September 2009 Concluded an agreement for academic and education exchange with National Institute for Innovation Management, Zhejiang University
December 2009 Held the International Symposium "Comprehensive Study on Modern China's Growing Global Impacts" in Aichi University (Joint Sponsored with Center for East Asian Media Studies, Hokkaido University)
May 2010 Started to cooperate in research with DENSO Corporation
June 2010 ICCS selected for the 2010 Support program for Japan-China academic exchange by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (up to February 2011)
April 2011 Concluded an agreement for academic and ecudation exhange with Center for Traditional Chinese Cultural Studies, Wuhan University
April 2011 Concluded an agreement for academic and education exchange with China Center for Economic Research, Peking University
November 2011 Has participated  "Contemporary  Chinese  Area Studies "  program administrated  by National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU) as a partner center
March 2012 Concluded an agreement for academic and ecudation exhange with Department of Automotive Engineering , Tsinghua University
December 2012 Held the workshop "Crisis situation between Japan and China: How to bridge for the future? "as a colloquium of "Contemporary Chinese Area Studies Program" administrated by NIHU in Aichi University
March 2013 Issued the journal for  ’ International Center for Chinese Studies (ICCS)’  in Aichi University to momery 10 anniversary
November 2013 "Transformation in quality between Japan-China relations-Disscused from the other areas"  organized by Japan Consortium for Area Studies (JCAS)
March 2014 Finished the corporative research with JST and CRCC about "Research and coporation between Japan and China in science and technology for 40 anniversaries"
June 2014 Held the symposium of  dual degree program in Renmin University of China for 10 anniversary memory

Published a book "The Foundamental Change of Chinese Society and the Transformation of  Japan-China Relatship " by Nippon Hyoron Sha Co., Ltd.
February 2015 Held the international symposium " the politics about the 4th Plenary Session of China and diverse aspects over the Japan-China relations"
March 2015 Finished the JST's projects - "research about questions of Chinese food"" research about the agricultural revolution in China" with CRCC
February 2016 Held the international symposium "Contemporary Chinese Area Studies"  program on the Nagoya campus of  Aichi University
